Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, some data is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including:

  • the pages you view and how you arrived (referring site or search terms),

  • send you Postcards updates, if you signed up (and for nothing else without your consent);

Email updates (Postcards)

If you sign up for Postcards, we use your email address only to send you those updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We store your address with our email service provider (Kit, formerly ConvertKit) and we don’t share it with anyone else.

  • service providers who help us run the Site (such as our web host, email provider, and analytics provider), who may use it only to provide those services to us;
  • authorities, where required by law.

We never sell or rent your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above — for example, we keep your email while you’re subscribed to Postcards, and remove it after you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained in aggregate according to our analytics provider’s settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information — including the right to access, correct, or delete it, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain processing. This includes rights under Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and, for visitors in the EU/EEA and UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
